Homa Bay County Water and Sanitation Company Limited (HOMAWASCO), a fast growing Company providing water and sewerage services within Homa Bay County is seeking to recruit competent and qualified personnel in the following positions:


      Duties and responsibilities.

  • Ensure monthly reading and recording of meter readings according to the billing cycle.
  • Carry out inspection of water lines and repair of any leakages, breakage and burst in water pipes.
  • Identify unbilled clients and bill them accordingly.
  • Liaise with the scheme manager to formalize any illegal connection and surcharge the clients.
  • Attending to clients queries on water connection and billing.
  • Any other duties that may be assigned by the immediate supervisor/Management

     Minimum qualification

  • A diploma in Water Engineering or diploma in water related course from KEWI or any recognized institution.
  • Have knowledge and a working experience of not less than three years in water sector.
  • Capable of working under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
  • Have excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • An analytical mind with problem-solving abilities


Duties and responsibilities.

  • Water production, treatment $ distribution.
  • Liaise with the scheme manager to ensure maintenance and repair of machines/ pumps at the treatment plant.
  • Ensure water quality as per required standards.
  • Maintaining daily hours of operation in the plant logbook.
  • Maintaining of daily meter reading records during operations in the plant log book.
  • Inspection of valves to confirm temperature and pressure levels.
  • Ensure cleanliness of operation area and its surrounding.
  • Any other duties that might be allocated to you by immediate supervisor/Management.

     Minimum Qualifications and Experience.

  • Certificate in Water Engineering, Water Management from (KEWI) or any recognized institution.
  • Two years working experience in water sector.
  • Good Communication skills.


Duties and responsibilities.

  • Ensure collection, delivery of safe and clean water to both individual/corporate clients to various locations.
  • Ensure proper collection, transportation and disposal of waste water in an appropriate manner.
  • Ensure the water Bauser/Tanker are in good condition i.e regular checking of  oil, water, battery, brakes and tyres.
  • Perform minor repairs and liaise with your supervisor for major repairs
  • Prepare and submit vehicle monitoring report, including records of vehicle operations, maintenance, expenses, mileage, at end of each month
  • Liaise with your supervisor to ensure vehicle insurance and registration is updated according to schedule.
  • Any other duty that might be assigned by your immediate supervisor/Management.

Minimum qualification

  • A valid driving license.
  • Two years working experience in similar position..
  • Good Communication skills.


Duties and responsibilities.

  • Liaise with HODs, Scheme managers and section heads to gather daily, weekly and monthly operations data.
  • Records daily, weekly, monthly water production quantities and disseminate to MD and HODs.
  • Ensure there are consistent records of hours of production, metering ratio and supply coverage.
  • Ensure there is accurate data on collection, efficiency ratio and NRW rate.
  • Present scheme key KIPs during monthly management meetings.
  • Disseminate data collected to all Heads of department to enable them prepare key KIPs to WASREB, LVSWB and other statutory institutions.
  • Prepare yearly WARIS report on behalf of the Company.
  • To prepare exceptional company reports to the MD, HODs on monthly basis.
  • Any other duty that may be assigned to you by your immediate supervisor

Minimum qualification

  • A Bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields: – Economics, Commerce, Statistics, Water & environmental engineering, Civil engineering from a recognized institution.
  • At least two (2) years of relevant work experience.
  • Must have knowledge on data analysis.


Duties and responsibilities.

  • To  map all HOMAWASCO’S  water networks’ , valves and update the computerized GIS mapping system
  • To map and update both new/old HOMAWASCO consumer meters/valve by GIS system
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures related to mapping of daily system updates such as: new connections, new service extensions, system repair , distribution line leaks/burst and repairs
  • Advice HOMAWASCO management on GIS infrastructure modernization , and training staff on use of GIS equipment/tools
  • Makes recommendations to HOMAWASCO’s  management on GIS hardware /software upgrades, changes to equipment performance and working conditions
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly GIS status reports on all HOMAWASCO water networks and recommends actions to management
  • Any other duties that maybe assigned by your immediate supervisor

Minimum qualification

  • A Bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields:-, Geo informatics, Geography, Geospatial Engineering from a recognized institution.
  • At least two (2) years of relevant work experience.
  • Must demonstrate professional competence, leadership qualities as well as good understanding of natural resources sector including maintenance of geo spatial data and its infrastructure;
  • Must be comfortable working with and well versed with the following mapping software Arc GIS, Q GIS and image processing software (ERDAS and Google Earth Engine).
  • Possess spatial database management skills.
  • Demonstrate good understanding of field and secondary data collection.


Duties and responsibilities.

  • Clean office, tables, chairs on daily basis
  • Carry out routine messengerial work.
  • Support to keep office equipment in safe places with proper handling.
  • Distribute letters/information following the guidance of the senior officers to the correct recipient.
  • Maintain company cloak rooms and the entire office compound clean.
  • Clean utensils and other materials to ensure their functionality.
  • Any other duties that may be assigned by the immediate supervisor/Management

Minimum qualification

  • Must have KCSE certificate.
  • At least one (1) year of relevant work experience in office management
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
  • Certificate of good conduct.
