The Managing Director of Homa Bay County Water and Sanitation Company, Thomas Nyonje, joined other leaders in the water sector at the Canada–Kenya Water Sector Roundtable held at the High Commission of Canada in Nairobi.
The roundtable, organized by Kenya Water Institute (KEWI) in partnership with the High Commission of Canada to Kenya, brought together key stakeholders to discuss ways of strengthening Kenya’s water sector through technology, skills development, and strategic partnerships.
The meeting was also attended by the Water Secretary, Eng. Sao Alima, alongside other water sector professionals.
The closed-door technical dialogue focused on key areas affecting water utilities, including Non-Revenue Water diagnostics and utility performance, pipeline condition assessment and asset management, digital water monitoring and data systems, wastewater treatment and industrial effluent management, as well as human capital development through training and partnerships.
The discussions aimed to identify priority technological needs, strengthen institutional capacity, and explore collaborations to support resilient and efficient water service delivery across the country.
Such engagements continue to play a critical role in building stronger partnerships and sharing knowledge that will help transform the water sector and expand access to safe and reliable water services for communities.
